I finally got to see A Nightmare on Elm Street.  Huge event.

For the past 30 years on and off, I've been looking for it in video stores.  Nothing.  Sequels yes.  Not the first one.

Waited for that day I see it broadcast on TV.  Saw the sequels from time to time.  Never the first one.

Then during my world travels, I finally stayed with people who had a videotape on the shelf labeled "Nightmare on Elm Street".

I anxiously popped it into the VCR.  No idea what it was, but I somehow knew that was NOT A Nightmare on Elm Street.  It had Freddy in it and some kids getting killed, but it was probably some knockoff imitation movie.

Fast forward many years...

... and stop at today, 14/04/2017.

On this day I flip through the channels, and whatdya know!!!  A Nightmare on Elm Street on TCM.  Finally!

So I got to watch it and now feel fulfilled.

Actually I only caught it from the second half.

But I'm sure before the next 30 years is up, I'll see the first half too.

Then I'll feel like I can have closure on the issue of A Nightmare On Elm Street.

From a filmmaking point of view, there's also something very fulfilling about a movie that's not all cgi garbage.  It was so refreshing to see originality.

Don't forget the tv series, Freddy's Nightmares! Some episodes can be found on the net.

Someday, I'm gonna get a Freddy Krueger sweater.

Right here.  Hope it's warm and toasty.

TV series eh?  You discover something new every decade.  Thanks Aldridge!

But I couldn't find any of the episodes on YouTube.

I also still don't get the ending of that movie.  Is the whole movie up until before the last scene a dream, or is the last scene the dream?

Ah the mysteries of life.

The movie was real; you just dreamed that you watched it.

I did watch it!  I did!!!  I'm not crazy.  I'll prove it!!!

Thanks for bringing that site under my attention dude!  Archive.org.  Quite a resource for stuff.

Those vids wouldn't play on my computer but I did see some clips on YOuTube for that Freddy series.  It seems lame.  Too much talking, asif they needed to fill a half hour time slot on a budget so they limited the costly effects and just filled it up with freddy talking.

Freddy mustn't talk too much.  He's more of a doer.  Nobody watches freddy to see him have a debate with the viewer.

I'll just enjoy the movies 1,3,4 and 6.

Anyway, time to lay meself down to sleep.

Sweet nightmares now!
