This short film is a heartful piece, shot in part in my backyard but not by me.

Uh, dude?  The film isn't online.  I don't think we're all going to drive to Orlando to view it.  Please post an online viewing link.

Sorry about that.

I guess US folk do not have that long-distance drive casualness as us Aussies who do stupid things because your roads are so good and petrol so cheap like drive up from Dayton to Niagara and back on the one day just to see the waterfall or do LA halfway to SF and return to look at the giant sequioa trees because one saw them on a Disney film a long time ago.

His Father's Son won't be released to online viewing until its festival run is complete. As other festivals are notified, I'll post them.

Bob, it looks like an intense coming of age movie.  Thanks for posting!  Yeah, let us know when the movie completes its festival run and is available.

By the way, mokkimachi (Marius) lives in Africa, so U.S. roads won't apply to him.

With apologies to mokkimachi, resident of another country where drivers use the correct side of the road.

No apologies required my good man!

Just reminding that in this here century, an effective way to publish information i.e. videos to all potentially interested parties from all corners of the earth is to use what has become dubbed "the internet", as various factors connected to using only physical locations restrict your viewer base considerably.

Nowadays, with the click of a mouse, souls from all over the globe can view your creation since right after publication, and react with a possible no reaction at all, a compliment and a word of appreciation and encouragement, or an insult and critique that will hurt you within your deepest core.

Sure funky times we live in!  Aint it grand.

Thank you for explaining to us what the Internet is.

"Thank you for explaining to us what the Internet is."

Tsk tsk tsk.  Every time I give you the chance to be rid of me forever, you come right back.  No other friends to pester then?

Well ok, you can be stuck with me by your own choice, but don't spaz like a bitch next time you're angry at me.  Which is probably already.

I didn't explain "what the internet is".  The internet is a bunch of computers and servers connected to each other with phone lines and fibre glass cables and radio waves.  Did you hear me mention anything of the sort above?

Our Australian mate advertised a movie playing at a film festival in Orlando, I take it in hopes of finding viewers for it.  Nobody here is anywhere near the proximity to Orlando.  You live in "Utah" (please get proper Anglican names for your states) and Cornfly and Aldridge live in Nevada.  I live in the African jungle.  None of us will spend the time and money and effort and will involved in going to Orlando just to watch his backyard film.

So I made a suggestion that he makes it available using the much more practical method of online video.  Yes, I meant for free too.

That way, at least one of us actually will watch at least a couple of minutes of it.  I might have if I'm not too busy working or watching something else.  And who knows, somebody might actually watch the whole thing.  Cornfly probably will, seeing as he can actually sit through "feature length" thingies without wanting to do something else.  Maybe his life is too boring and doesn't consist of other exciting things too.  How lucky is he.

Therefore kiddies, the lesson is:  ..............  what were we talking about?   Oh right, the internet.  Yeah, the internet has opened up a world of stuff.  Now I can write garbage and you can read it.  How magical.

Oh yes.  I mean he wanted us to go to Orlando to view a film.  Now, the last time I was in Orlando, I can't remember, but it wasn't for films.  I went to Disneyworld and MGM and some such places.

Anyway, the internet is a better way to now distribute motion picture entertainment to each other.  That way, there's no physical  cassettes taking up space, and no ticket prices to pay or people using their phones in the theater.

Let's all switch to using the internet for film distribution.

Festivals want exclusive premieres.  They don't like films that are playing on the internet.  An Internet release will also kill potential distribution deals.  The answer here is to wait for the movie to be either be distributed or eventually released on the net.

For now, enjoy the trailer and info about the movie.

"Festivals want exclusive premieres.  They don't like films that are playing on the internet."

"Festivals" don't pay for the content they are provided with to host their moneymaking event.  In fact, in some sick twisted sickoness, they expect the filmmakers to pay THEM and they actually get away with it!!  Does that sound fair to you?

In fairness, they are in no position to make demands.  Let's all burn down all festivals!  That's the "revolutionary" way.  "Festivals" have exploited and abused us for long enough.

KILL THE FILM FESTIVAL!!!

"An Internet release will also kill potential distribution deals. "

You and your old fashioned way of worshipping distributors who make all the money off of the filmmaker's back.

Except for theatrical, whatever they can do, you can do yourself.  Especially online.  List with all the distributors.  Oh.

"
The answer here is to wait for the movie"

You wait.  I need not to.  There are enough things available RIGHT NOW, ON THE INTERNET.

Enjoy growing old waiting for things.

Ok Darangula, keep us posted on when this movie is accessible.  Or when it has gotten that distribution deal of note for which it is being withheld from any potential online audiences.
