We just finished a great shoot at MooiFilm Castle, and ending with shooting location shots at the airport.

The shoot went really well, except the actors kept eating the props!

Okay, so the props in question was sandwiches and coffee, but these were supposed to be eaten during the scene as part of the scene. But our actors, Janda Walters and P.J. van der Walt, kept eating even when the cameras weren't rolling.

Stern words with them was only met with "We're hungry! And these are so darn good!"

Yeah, asif excuses will excuse their behavior. And they kept offering me a bite too! Now why would I want to eat my props?

As for the coffee, fortunately it was far too bitter to really be drunk, so they didn't finish that with the same enthusiasm. It was only supposed to look good on film, not to taste good in real life.

The sandwhiches were frozen solid at the start of the shoot, but as these became defrosted as time went by, our actors were gormandizing like pigs and had to be constantly reminded that this isn't food, but props.

Fortunately it seems with some guidance, it worked out just right so that the sandwhiches lasted right to the last shot.

All's well that ends well. And soon you'll be able to see the scene that is part of an episode of the EENDAG movie series.

So, do you also keep a whip on set to assist in actor control?

Congrats Marius on getting er done! Um, why didn't you feed the actors breakfast before the shoot? You had just 2. Couldn't have cost that much.

This isn't a diner.  It's a movie studio.  And we started at 8am.  Whoever hasn't eaten breakfast by then needs nutrition therapy.

And it was only 3 pages of script to shoot in the studio.  A 90 minute interior shoot.  And it worked out exactly.

So I expect them to come in, do the scenes, get out.  That's how we roll around here. We get things done.  We don't say we're gonna do a movie shoot and then we imagine it's a banquet instead.  Huh-uh!!

Anyway, it's all done and in the can, so thank you actors!!

Now I'm gonna eat some fish & chips.  It shall be darn delicious.
