...Especially when you can use movies to sell hardware, or get subscribers to your service or mobile device data plan.

 They keep mentioning, "Series."  I hate seriess, with a few exceptions.  Too much dragging things out and no conclusions in sight.  I have enough trouble just keeping up with movies.  I don't look forward to more glut.  Interesting read, though.

Now, quit posting these articles and make an interview video of yourself!  :>)

Hehe yeah, series, because they want to have as much 'content' as possible, and keep their viewers hooked for a while, before flushing everything and get some new content. Studios aren't really interested in making that stuff (when they don't belong to a TV network, that is) so tech companies simply create content themselves.
The idea is to come up with something that will make devices sell. Buying the rights to 'real' movies is too expensive.

Ah, yes, the video interview! Haha I need to look into that...!!
