I would likke to have been a crewie on this one but was not and have no other connection. It would have been sweet to have been able to drop names and make a big fella of myself.

If you have enjoyed the novels and films of iconic writer Steven King which are not of the supernatural genre, then you likely will enjoy this one out of the south-west of Western Australia.

I only have the facebook link to the trailer for now so to view it, you will need to be a facebooker.

Edit. The link did not take. Solmething funny is going on these days p- too complex for this luddite. The indieclub webmaster is a clever fellow. Even a tricky munted and longformed version of the web address will not take. I can't say I did not try. Look up dvinfo net forum in the awake ikn the dark thread and you will find it there.

This looks really good. After the teaser trailer there was a longer version of the trailer. Toni Collette is always amazing. I'd go see this in a theater.

The film has commenced its run in Western Australia and I saw it today. It is one of those rare ones derived from a published novel which is faithful to the sensibility of the novel but ins some way is a better rendition of the story.

You may sense resonances of "To Kill A Mockingbird" and "Stand By Me" but the story and the setting are original and a reminder of rural and country-town life that I experienced as a kid. I guess I am being a bit parchochial but my recommendation is go see it if it gets cinema screenings or if not, it will be well worth the look via other sources.
